Cytadela is a conversion of an old Amiga first person shooter.

cytadela2 Cytadela is a conversion of an old Amiga first person shooter. The original was created in mid 1990's by Virtual Design, and released firstly in Poland and then in other countries.

This is a single player game in which the player fights against AI enemies. The goal of the game is to find six bomb parts with which the Citadel has to be blown up. To achieve it, the player not only has to defend himsefl against the enemies, but (s)he also has to solve many riddles, such as swithcing apropriate buttons in order to open some door, move some walls, etc.

Find out more about the aim and the gameplay.
As a conversion, this project tries to be as similar to the original as possible (but, what I think is quite obvious, this could not be achieved in 100%) and therefore there won't be any significant changes, only some gameplay improvements are possible.

However, Cytadela is a Free Software, which means if someone would like to modify it somehow, (s)he is free to do so (see the license).

09.07.2009 - Cytadela 0.9 finally released

At last, after several years of development, I can finally announce a fully playable conversion of the great Amiga game, Cytadela! This version, 0.9, brings all the levels of the original version with all in-game features.
Some other notable changes are:

    *     the game finally works on big-endian systems (many thanks to Tomasz WiÅ›niewski for his help with testing the big-endian support)

    *     two info screens showing information about in-game controllers, created by Marcin 'Senkal' SÄ™kalski (the screens are displayed before training levels)

    *     WASD keys as alternative keys for walking (forward/backward and strafe left/right)

The full list of changes is available in the change log.

As always, the game can be downloaded as a source code and as compiled binaries. However, this time the Debian packages will be available some time later.
The final version, 1.0, will bring just fixes of bugs found in 0.9 and perhaps some minor improvements.
